Go to the field near the broom stacks north of Hogwarts
To start Flying Class, go to then north courtyard of Hogwarts during the day. There should be a field near the stack of brooms where the class takes place.
Ride the broom and pass through three rings
After the cutscene, ride the broom and pass through the three rings ahead. Adjust the altitude with the right stick and tilt the left stick to move towards a specific direction.
Accelerate with R2 and pass through the rings around the castle
Next, get familiar with the broom control by passing through the rings placed around Hogwarts. Since the rings are spread out over a wide area, it's best to fly while holding down R2 to increase speed.
Chasing Everett Clopton
After circling around Hogwarts, you will be invited by Everett to fly with him. While trying out the speed boost taught by Everett, let's explore the famous places in Hogwarts.
Note that the speed boost consumes the yellow meter in the bottom right corner of the screen, which gives you more speed for a certain period of time. The meter recovers over time, so it is recommended to fly by holding down the R2 button normally, and use the boost when you want to save time or escape from troublesome enemies.
Landing in the Courtyard with the Circle Button
After flying with Everett and hearing the whistle blow, return to the courtyard and lower your altitude by pressing the Circle button to land. After landing, a cutscene with Professor Kogawa will trigger and the quest will be completed.
