How to Ride a Hippogriff
1 | Clear the main quest, The High Keep |
2 | Move outside the no-fly zone |
3 | Ride the Hippogriff with L1+△ button |
Moving Outside the No-Fly Zone
After clearing the main quest, The High Keep, and unlocking the Hippogriff, move outside the no-fly zone. The no-fly zone is indicated by a prohibition mark next to the mini-map in the lower left corner of the screen. The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry campus in Hogsmeade is a no-fly zone, so it is recommended to move to a different area.
Riding the Hippogriff with L1+△ Button
Once you have moved outside the no-fly zone, hold L1 and press the △ button to ride the Hippogriff. To ride the Hippogriff, you need to be in an open area, so it is recommended to move away from walls and obstacles before calling it.
How to Change to Other Mounts
Selecting a Mount in the Gear Menu
If you want to change to a mount other than the Hippogriff, open the gear menu and select the mounts on the right side of the screen. Once you have opened the mounts menu, hover over the desired mount with the cursor and press the confirm button to switch to it.

Is there any difference between the Hippogriff and brooms?
There is almost no difference in speed.
There is almost no difference in speed between the Hippogriff and the default broom. However, the speed of the broom can be increased through customization. If you want to move at a higher speed, progress through broom-related quests and customize your broom.
Unlocking and Enhancing the Broom |
Stable top speed due to no stamina
One of the key differences between the Hippogriff and a broom is that the Hippogriff does not have stamina, resulting in a stable top speed. If you prefer to travel at a constant speed or if you like flying creatures, use the Hippogriff.
