Mechanics Guide | |
---|---|
1 | Use Wiggenweld Potion to restore HP |
2 | Use camera controls and movement to follow Professor Fig |
2 | Approach the step and climb up to proceed |
After completing Character Creation, the cutscene will begin and you will be transported to the Tutorial Map through the important in-game item, "Portkey." Follow the on-screen operation guide and proceed to the magic barrier while chasing Professor Fig.
Destroy the wall with Basic Cast
Once you reach the enchanted wall, destroy the barrier using Basic Cast and proceed. After aiming the camera at the barrier with the right stick, rapidly tap R2 to use Basic Cast.
The jars along the way can also be destroyed
On the path after destroying the barrier, there are jars that can be destroyed with Basic Cast. Since no items will appear even if you destroy them, only break them while progressing if you want to test the usability of Basic Cast.
How to Obtain Spells and Their Effects |
How to Unlock Basic Cast |
Head towards the back of the area relying on the minimap
When you proceed and arrive at Ruins, the minimap function in the lower left corner of the screen will be unlocked. Head towards the yellow pin displayed on the minimap. Meet with Professor Fig and examine the glowing Wall to be transferred to the next map, Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Examine the treasure chest in the opposite direction of the stone bridge
If you backtrack from where Professor Fig repaired the stone bridge with Reparo, you will find a treasure chest containing coins. In Hogwarts Legacy, coins are necessary in various situations, so if you want to progress in money-making even a little, it's a good idea to examine the treasure chest.
Trace the trajectory to learn Revelio
When you ride the platform in Gringotts Wizarding Bank and proceed to the vault, the door will be locked from the outside, trapping you inside the vault. Trace the trajectory of the spell to learn Revelio and chant it, then examine the hidden door that appears beyond the Wall to proceed.
Ignore the button prompts that appear during the learning process
While learning Revelio, button prompts will appear during the process and if you input the corresponding button, the speed of tracing the miracle will accelerate. It is just a faster visual effect and does not have any particular meaning, so you can ignore it and not input any buttons.
How to Obtain Spells and Their Effects |
Effects and Use of Revelio |
Follow Professor Fig through the darkness
When you examine the hidden door, you will be transported to a dark room. Follow closely behind Professor Fig, as he will light the way. If you examine the shining floor at the back of the room, there will be a change in the Floors and the story will progress.
The game ends if you stray too far from Professor Fig
If you stray too far from Professor Fig, it will result in a game over. You will have to start over from the moment you enter the dark room. There are no treasure chests in the vicinity, so do not make any detours and simply follow behind.
Learn Lumos and solve the secret of the stone statues
Head towards the changed floors and cast Revelio to make the statue appear. Follow the same steps as Revelio to learn Lumos. After this, move to the left side towards Professor Fig, to solve the statue puzzle.
Align Statue and its Reflection in the Same Direction
The statues on the floor on the ground have the property of facing towards the light source. To solve the statue's mystery, use Lumos while moving in the direction where the light beam appears on the ground, and align the direction of the statue with its reflection.

Even if Professor Fig defeats it, the Large statue remains intact
During the Tutorial battle, Professor Fig will fight alongside you. He has very high attack power, so let him defeat the statues while you focus on self-defense using Protego.
Battle System and Tips for Battles |
Utilize 2 types of spells to reach the inner area
After the battle, you will be separated from Professor Fig and left in the darkness. Cast Lumos to illuminate the room and follow the light to reach the shining floors in the inner area.
Note that there are a total of 3 treasure chests in the darkness. It is recommended to use Revelio to locate them and open them as they contain coins.
Defeating the Statue with Professor Fig
After examining the shining floors in the depths of darkness and solving the statue's puzzle, another battle with the statue begins. Since you cannot rely on Professor Fig's assistance this time, use Protego for defense and utilize Basic Cast for attacks to defeat the statue.
Disrupt the stance with consecutive attacks or Stupefy
When attacking an enemy whose stance has been disrupted, the damage display turns golden, indicating bonus damage. It is effective to continuously use Basic Cast. You can also hold down the button to cast Stupefy after using Protego for defense and to fight while disrupting the enemy's stance.
