How to Unlock: In the Shadow of Time

Clear: In the Shadow of Discovery

The quest, "In the Shadow of Time'' is unlocked when you clear the relationship quest, "In the Shadow of Discovery." "In the Shadow of Discovery" can be unlocked by clearing "In the Shadow of the Study'' and "Fire and Vice," so progress through the main story and clear them.

Talk to Sebastian outside the catacombs

"In the Shadow of Time'' can be started by talking to Sebastian outside the Catacombs. It would be better to fast travel to the Feldcroft Catacombs. If it's not open yet, head there from Feldcroft by riding a mount or a broomstick.

Move forward while solving puzzles and defeating spiders

Inside the underground tomb, puzzles such as spider webs, handles, and distorted doors appear. Chant the spell corresponding to each to solve the puzzle. After this, head to the square where the bone barricade is placed.

Additionally, a large number of spiders will appear along the way. Since there are many of them, it is a good idea to quickly reduce their number and defeat them by using Crucio. It can block the enemy's movements and make them powerless. You can also use Incendio or use Transformation, which you have already mastered.

Pick up the bones and break the barricades

After picking up the memo in the center of the plaza and talking to Sebastian, aim to remove the bone barricade in front of you. The bone barricade can be removed by moving the scattered bones with Wingardium Leviosa and bringing a total of 3 bones to the front of the barricade. Explore the area around the plaza and collect the bones.

Detour strategy

Learn Imperio

When you break through the first bone barricade and move forward, a conversation with Sebastian will occur. Select the second option from the top, "Imperius Curse" and learn "Imperio.'"

Choosing not to learn Imperio has no merit. Unless you want to enjoy role-playing without learning dark magic, we recommend learning Imperio.

Open the stone door and remove the barricade.

Use Depulso to open the door to the south and proceed forward, and a bone barricade will block your path. There are bones inside the stone door with two symbols drawn on it, so pull the handle with the corresponding symbol on it with the Accio to collect the bones and break the barricade.

Detour strategy

Obtain the relic and talk to Sebastian and Ominis

When you break through the second barricade, defeat the spider and examine the artifact, a conversation event with Sebastian and Ominis will occur. After defeating Ominis in the event, retrace your steps and head outside the graveyard.

Additionally, if you choose "I cannot side with you. Sebastian's right." or "Yes, that's precisely what I'm suggesting." in the conversation with Ominis, an event will occur where you can use Imperio on Ominis. You will learn Imperio through the event, so if you don't want to learn dark magic, avoid that option.

Defeat Ranrok's Loyalists at Feldcroft

When you leave the graveyard and head to Feldcroft, the village is being attacked by Ranrok's Loyalists. Join the battle and repel them. After defeating them, talk to Sebastian and Solomon to complete the quest.

The next quest, "In the Shadow of Distance," will occur after you clear "In the Shadow of Time.'' If you want to try the next quest immediately, select "Wait" from the map.

Reward

Unforgivable Curse: Imperio

If you answer correctly during the quest, you will be able to learn the unforgivable curse "Imperio." If you want to learn Imperio, select "I want to learn the Imperius Curse''.

You can turn the person you hit into an ally.

Imperio is a spell that temporarily takes control of the enemy it hits and allows them to use it as an ally. It is an effective spell when fighting a large number of enemies, as it can temporarily reduce the number of enemies while increasing the number of allies.
