Talk to Headless Nick in front of the Large Hall
The Hunt for the Missing Pages Search can be started by talking to Nearly Headless Nick, who's in front of the Great Hall. You can fast travel to the Great Hall or run there from the Central Hall.

Head to the kitchen with Nearly Headless Nick
Let's head to the kitchen with Nearly Headless Nick (Sir Nicholas). Tickle the pear in the painting to unlock the door to the Kitchen.
Obtaining the Rotten Roast Beef on the Barrel
The desired rotten roast beef is on top of a barrel in the southeast corner of the kitchen. When you approach it, a dialogue line saying "Eww... it smells terrible!" will appear.
Returning to Nearly Headless Nick
Once you obtain the rotten roast beef, return to Nearly Headless Nick. After a conversation, you'll automatically be transported to the gathering of the headless ghosts in Hogsmeade.

Talking to Sir Amset and Starting the Headless Hunt
When you arrive at your destination, head towards the yellow pin and talk to Sir Amset Nestor. By talking to him, you can start the Headless Hunt's game and meet Jackdaw.
Breaking Pumpkins and Finding Heads 5 Times
The Headless Hunt's game is a mini-game where you search for Jackdaw's head hidden inside pumpkins. Each time you find a head, it will move to a different pumpkin, so keep breaking pumpkins in the area using Basic Cast to find the head 5 times.
Talking to Jackdaw
After completing the quest, a conversation with Jackdaw will occur. If you ask about the whereabouts of the Field Guide Pages while talking to him, the quest will be completed.
The next quest requires Expelliarmus
Before attempting the next main quest, Jackdaw's Rest, it is necessary to learn Expelliarmus first. Clear Professor Hecat's Assignment 2 to learn the spell.
